Does Playing Games Online Embarrass You??

I have to admit... it did me, but sometimes I just needed an escape and playing online games did that for me. I would turn on a kitchen timer for 30 minutes and play... as long as the door was shut. But not any more. And I can thank my daughter for this. While driving to work one morning, she began listening to an interview with a woman who had suffered a traumatic brain injury (a concussion) that would not heal. It was either commit suicide or do something about it. The video below explains what she did... and now I'm doing it too.

Shake Your Body... Another Power-Up for today...

 I honestly didn't think that I had any endorphins in side of me, but apparently any kind of exercise can release them. Maybe I'm not doing the right kind of exercise or listening to the right music... hmmm,  I am listening to Good King Joy and I'm thinking how nice the song would be to skate to!  Now if that doesn't get the endorphins rushing through me... nothing will.

Have You Ever Noticed?? Does This Really Work?

 When I first signed up with SuperBetter, I saw that I was leveling up... I'm at Level 20 right now and I didn't realize that each level was clickable. Well, I know now and I have a lot of reading to catch up with.

Just read Level 6 and it's all about listening to music and how it can affect you. The same goes with losing yourself in a good book. Unfortunately I didn't read this until just a few minutes ago. So, I'm giving it a try right now. I'm going to sit back close my eyes and listen to one song from the Tran Siberian Orchestra and see if I feel any different when the song draws to an end!

                                                   OK...  It was awesome!!!

Spending an Hour on the Family Tree

I spend way too much time on things that I think need to be done. Today, I'm going to say no to that and yes to something I actually want to do. And that would be to work on my Gamache line in my  family tree. Just found Marie and it turns out that she is my 6th great grandmother from Quebec... and I know next to nothing about her. From what I have seen to date, I am related to probably half the province!

It's the Little Things...

 I thought that I remembered this Power-Up and I was right.

"Studies show that 40% of our level of satisfaction with life is determined by the little things we do each day. "

I just finished shoveling the back deck and (hate to admit it, but at my age, you have to be careful. At least that's what they say. Luckily I don't feel too old to shovel the back deck... and it's a big one lol and I feel very satisfied with myself. Have to admit, I was starting to get tired, but I wasn't about to give in before at least 3/4 of all the snow had been removed. The rest can wait for tomorrow or if I'm really lucky maybe the wind will blow the rest of it off for me.

So, one more Power-Up I can scratch off the list.

Found Something That Helped!!

Tree decorated and now to find something else to do... A really good way to put your stresses behind you is to head over to Duolingo and learn a new language. I have been studying French for a while now and I didn't think about any stresses while I was trying to translate today's lesson. I couldn't remember half of it, but it kept me busy lol.

I just laughed! I think that laughing is one of my Power-Ups! It's been a couple of days since I last laughed.

Feeling Better Today But...

 I slept really well last night but woke up really early. Decided to just get up and begin my day. I learned something new about SuperBetter this morning. If you have a bad couple of days, be prepared to watch your numbers drop. This morning my current score is 2005 while my peak is 2013. Can having a good few days bring it back up?  No idea... my scores have always been the same until my mood plummeted.  I'm curious to see what is going to happen next.

*Last night received a phone call to set my mind at ease.  I think that the worst is over.
