Looking Back

 I met my husband 43 years ago tonight so this is a very special night for us. We cleared our 42 anniversary and while our years have had our ups and downs, we never once thought of throwing in the towel. If there is a problem, we simply get together and figure it out.

Dec 28... Just One Horrible Day

It couldn't have been worse. My mood just plummeted and I think that it's the realization that Christmas is over and I have nothing to look forward to.  I went through this as a teenager, but it was a 100x worse today.  But I have learned that we really need things to look forward to... to the extent that you have to find things, write them down and post them where you can see them! The worse thing you can do is to just sit back and be miserable. You have to set your sights on the next exciting thing that is coming your way... and there is always something exciting in the future... little things, like a movie you want to watch, to planning that special something that you want to happen!

So, if you are feeling the Christmas Blues right now, you know what to do. Get up and do something about it. You will feel better... trust me!

Dec 26... Thoughts on Medication and Love!

 When you are feeling low, the first thing that you tend to forget is to take your meds.  If that is the case, go and do it right now. If you don't have enough of your meds in your system, I wonder if that could have something to do with your mood? 

The second thing that I want you to do is give thanks for what you have right now!  You might not have gotten what you expected for Christmas, but I'm sure that you received a lot of love!!

Merry Christmas

 It's been a hard one this year. I lost Mom early November and she has been in my thoughts a lot lately.  There have been a lot of tears understandably, but I have forced myself to go back and think of all the good Christmases too! 

That is one thing that you can do today.  Think about all the good memories you have. Yes, you are going to be reminded of awful ones too... we all have bad memories, but push them out of the way and go for the good memories.  And we ALL HAVE GOOD MEMORIES. We just have to spend a little time looking for them. Have you noticed how strong the bad memories are!  We are going to work on that in 2019!
