Have you ever wandered through a maze?

When was the last time you walked a labyrinth? I’m not sure if it’s the same as a maze, but come to think about it, maybe not. The labyrinth that I was just looking at was more like a path to follow and didn’t have those walls that you couldn’t see over. And the reason that I’m telling you this is that I was just reading that the  American Cancer Society believes  that walking labyrinths  maybe be a good way to decrease our stress . I have a large back yard and I hadn’t a clue what to do with it. Just maybe a labyrinth is the answer!

Reaching Out

I talked to my sister today (she lives in a different country) and it was so nice to hear her voice. If you have a friend or sibling you haven't talked to in a while, reach out and say hello. The term "warm and fuzzy" is coming to mind right now. :)

Saturday... Time for some Halloween fun.

Just got back from another trip to the attic. Found an old witch's costume and two candelabras that would look awesome sitting in my kitchen.  I will take a photo later and post it. Are you having fun yet? I certainly am!

Saturday... Time to set aside some time for Halloween fun!

Halloween is just for kid?? I don't think so. All day today, I'm going to  offer suggestions on what we can do to have fun as an adult. I never agreed to grow up and neither should you.  So keep your eyes open for further updates today!!

To start... have you decorated your house yet? One day last week, I set the dining room table with all things Halloween. It meant climbing up to the attic for my Halloween box of decorations, and I'm not done yet.  I still have more to do and that makes the day fun!

Taking your mind off your troubles

There’s a lot of truth in what they say about exercise good for what ails you. I pretty much hate it, but lets face it, it’s something that we just have to do! This morning I began with a warm up for ten minutes on an exercise ball. And then I grabbed my ipod and began walking around the house… I’m not kidding… the house. I began listening to a podcast and put the kitchen timer on for ten minutes.  It rang before I was finished the podcast so I walked for an additional ten minutes. Not bad for someone who doesn’t like to exercise!

Christmas Music Today

Get out there and exercise. I'm bad when it comes to exercising. It bores me to tears. But walking seems to work for me... even if it is just around the house. I started out with several five minute walks throughout the day and when that became easy, I added a couple more minutes. I even added some Christmas music to walk to and it was even better!

Something I have to do... every day!

Check the library for books on worrying. Choose one and then read it. If you like what you are reading, consider buying the book and then read it again. I find that if I read a little each day, some of it tends to sink in and passages will pop into my mind when I begin worrying about something. The trick is to read something on worrying for about 15 minutes a day.

I was telling my mom about this and she said in surprise... doesn't this depress you even more and honestly, it doesn't! It actually helps!

Lets have a little fun today!

If you find yourself slipping back into your own ways, start planning something that you would love to do. Money doesn’t have to be an issue, because this is just a little bit of day dreaming. Here’s one example… having experienced a glorious in the Caribbean,  I spent a half hour planning what my resort would look like if I owned one. That certainly took my thoughts off my so called problems!

What Other People Are Thinking

What Other People Are Thinking... does this worry you??  Can you think of one person who could really care less??

You probably wouldn’t worry about what people think of you if you could know how seldom they do.

Sit Quietly

If something is bothering you today, I want you to try this...

Check your posture and then just sit quietly and pay attention to your breath for as long as you feel comfortable.  We have done this quite a lot during the year. It should be a lot easier than it once was.

Learning not to dwell on your fears

Learn not to dwell on thoughts that make you anxious. If you have an appointment that is making your nervous, don’t think about it. In fact, don’t devote any thought to it at all. Most of us have a tendency to try to talk ourselves out of our fears. It seldom works. Instead, devote your thoughts to your next vacation!

Top 40 Feel Good Songs of the 90´s

I have been away for a few days. I have picked up some sort of nasty cold/flu bug and I have been spending a lot of time in bed.  I hope all of you are having a better day than me... I have a little more work to do and then I'm going back to bed.
 ---------------

Wow, I'm not sure that I even lived through the nineties... Most of these songs I never heard before but the longer I listened, the more I recognized and I'm feeling a whole lot better lol.

Time to make a new friend day...

Make a new friend today, but make sure that the friend will lift you up, not bring you down. And try to be that kind of friend at the same time!

What you like about yourself!

Invest in a small picture frame. No, you aren’t going to insert a photo, you are going to write down something that you like about yourself and then frame it. This little reminder will sit on your bedside table so that it will be the first thing that you see upon waking. A little reminder is a good thing!

Slowing Yourself

A worrier can’t sit still for more than a minute or so at a time. Sometime today, set a kitchen timer for just one minute and try to do nothing. One minute should just be do-able.  We will up that amount of time in the coming weeks.
