Well, It Wasn't The Slippers

 I woke up today without a backache... none and I'm still wearing the slippers. I do think that I will toss them into the garbage so that I will have to buy a new pair.  Today, I will go in search of those indoor runners I told you about yesterday. So far, the day is looking pretty good. Even one person who usually annoys me, hasn't been able to ruin my day and I think she really did try!

I think that I'm learning to control things... one day at a time!!!

I Wonder if It's My Slippers??

 I have been doing all of my walking in these old slippers. My daughter (the health nut) has been warning me about the slippers, but as usual, I ignored the advice. It might be a good idea to change them to my indoor runners the next time I go upstairs. Really hope that they make the difference. I just looked at the sole of my slippers and they are really ready for the trash. They have cracked big time... can't be offering very much support at all. Hmmm

Back = Mood

 Back is aching again and mood is in the tank. I honestly thought I had figured out what was causing the back pain, but I'm beginning to wonder. I have even "upped" the time I walk each day to 20 minutes. Perhaps that is the problem. My back doesn't like it? Honestly, I thought if anything... my back would be all nice and loose from all the walking, but the last couple of days, it has returned. And I had had soooo many pain free days. I guess I will have to add this to the journal. "Pain is Back".

It's the Little Things!

 It really doesn't take much to change your mood. I just looked out the window this morning and I can see grass!!!  It actually made me smile. I really think that spring might actually be here. Go to your window and spend a couple of minutes just looking... you never know what you might see. Actually we saw four deer cross our yard yesterday while we were  having dinner. So, that was 2 smiles in less than 24 hours!!

I Brought Home a Puzzle Today

Our library is constantly leaving out books, movies, and puzzles that they don't want anymore. I actually found a pretty interesting puzzle that I want to put out... just not sure where to put it so that it won't be disturbed. Really need a puzzle table and a puzzle room I'm thinking. I think that I will add it to the growing list for our next house. Hubby is always looking for somewhere quiet to read and in this house there just isn't a spot!!

*The puzzle I picked up is an unusual one... CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. "Stabbing Pain"! Solve the jigsaw puzzle... solve the crime. It even comes with an ultra violet flashlight!  How cool is that??

I Don't Understand Self Compassion AT All...

 For some reason I began to make a list of everything that I was doing for everyone else. I am really worried about my mom and wondered if I  could do more?  Yeah, we tend to think that way.  I was just looking and over the last couple of days, I had come up with 10 things that I had done for my mom... and zero for myself. Apparently, I am supposed to treat myself as if matter too. I really don't know how to like myself at all!!

That's It... No More Tears

 I honestly should have been an actress because I can cry at the drop of a hat. Mom can too so I know where I got it from, but breaking into tears because someone hurt my feels is going to stop. I'm not giving anyone that kind of power over me. It just happened a couple of minutes ago and I nailed it!

Went To Bed At a Have Decent Hour!

 It's amazing at how much better you feel when you climb into bed at a reasonable hour and then sleep straight through the night!  Doesn't happen often, but I'm going to keep working at it!  It is well worth it when you wake up and all is right with your world.

Okay, I'm Getting Older!

 While I can usually just say that age is just in your head, I am noticing that aging has a mind of its own and it is sucking the muscle right out of my legs. I always had slender legs, but now they are beginning to look downright skinny!  So, I have decided to do something about it. I'm going to build them back up with 30 squats a day for March and see how I do.

Okay, just finished my 30 in sets of ten and my legs are burning. I'm old... remember lol! But it doesn't mean that I'm going to give in to skinny legs if I can do something about it. And then there is the whole butt thing. As you age, you lose back there too. Well, not if I can help it. Squats are supposed to help in that department too!! At the end of the month, I will let you know if I have a butt and great legs!!

Learning Something About My Problem New Every Single Day

 Just realized that I haven't been keeping up with my reading. Today, I think that I will sort out my bookshelf and put all of my wellness books together and then choose one that I will read from start to finish... a little each day. I have this awful habit of grabbing a book, taking it upstairs and then forgetting where I left it. Then I start a new one.  Today, the book will stay upstairs and each afternoon I will go up, settle into my rocking chair and read for a half hour. And... read slowly. No skimming!

Make a List of These Little Things


 From what I have been reading, it's all the little things that you do each day that will affect your state of well being... IN A BIG WAY!! These are the little things that you usually over look. So, making such a list is something that I'm going to do today as well. Here's mine so far...

1.Took a nice long hot shower! I feel so relaxed.
2. Looking forward to my first snack... as soon as I finish this post.
3. Used a leave in conditioner. Yeah, I have to work on my patience too. ;)
4. I'm not getting dressed today! It's my lazy day. Well, not exactly lazy, I just don't have anywhere that I have to go today.
5. I get to talk to my granddaughter today... and all of these things you never pay any attention to, but already, I'm feeling so nice and relaxed and looking forward to the rest of the day!!

The Relaxion That Comes With Doodling

I can't believe that I have accumulated so many doodles. To be honest when I started at the beginning of the year, I really didn't want to be bothered. I thought that it was a complete waste of time, but apparently it has grown on me and luckily I dated every piece of "artwork" and yes, I am now calling it artwork because it is so interesting to see how each piece differs.  I have even begun naming each doodle according to my mood... and you can tell just by looking at it where my mind is at. haha

At the moment, all of my doodling is just with a pencil, but I'm considering using color in the months to come... haven't decided yet.

Okay... Maybe Weasels Wouldn't Make The Best Pets...

I forgot to tell you yesterday!! As we were staring out the window yesterday, we saw something white scurrying around in the snow. We would have missed it if it hadn't had a tiny black tip on it's tale!  It was obviously  around looking for breakfast and obviously it hadn't gone hungry all winter long. It had tons of energy. Anyway, hubby was outside later in the day and he saw it again... a baby weasel about the length of your wrist to the tip of your fingers. Absolutely adorable. I asked if we could keep him and hubby pointed out that weasels don't get a good grade when it comes to just about anything you can think of. How many times have you heard someone being referred to as a weasel... guess I will keep looking!

My day so far... 8 and a half!! Time to fill up my water bottle!!

All Is Well With My World!!!

 I'm having a great day !! It is amazing how your mood will bounce back when the temps climb back to something you can handle. I think that we are sitting at about zero right now! Compared to where we were, that is bordering on summer weather. ;)
