Something For Fun Today

For all of you who are at home today, I'm sending you on a quest. I want you to head to the closest mall and see what things you can find to do that is not going to cost you more than five dollars. If you can have fun for less... even better. Yesterday my daughter and I went to our mall and found that there was a fair in town with all kinds of rides, candy floss and games.  Just wandering around people watching was great fun. And then there were all the smiling faces! That alone was priceless!! It just takes the right frame of mind to have fun!

You Are Going To Have Good Days and You Are Going To Have Bad Days

 It just goes with the territory. Yesterday I was in a horrible mood... today I am fine. You mood is going to have a lot to do with how you are feeling. Mine was attributed to lifting something heavy and I pulled something in my back that didn't want pulling apparently. The pain completely ruined my day. One good night's sleep and my frame of mind has completely changed.

Tip to myself... Don't over do... especially if you haven't warmed up first!! I will be considering every chore I do today.

Today I Played Mahjong...

 I have been playing mahjong now for a few months and I've gotten a lot better than my first game, which took me 24 minutes to crack. Oh, just in case you are wondering, I play mahjong solitaire. I looked at the other version, but it really didn't appeal to me at all. It seemed to be too close to other card games... which kind of surprised me. Mahjong Solitaire is nothing like any other kind of solitaire that I have ever played and that appealed to me!

Now, I have mastered all of the levels, at least on this platform and I am finding that I'm not as competitive as I was in the past. Now, I take my time and use my mind to look for the best moves. My reasoning now is preventing dementia from setting in as it has for my mother. One or two games each day, I pretty sure will help prevent that from happening. At least I hope so!!

I'm Wondering...

I think that my two main problem areas when it comes to anxiety is health issues. That makes going to the dentist and the doctor almost unbearable. I have just gotten back for my second dental appointment this month... one last Thursday and again this morning.  I noticed this morning that my anxiety wasn't as severe as it was last week which leads me to wonder if perhaps volunteering at a clinic until a paying job materializes just might be something to consider.  I would be making my own money while managing my anxiety issues.

I will have to give this some more thought before I make a decision!!

My Fear Morphed Into Something New

 I just realized today that my fear  has entangled itself  with perfectionism. I cannot allow myself to show my fear because that is a sign of weakness. This is going to be a whole lot harder than I expected!   Well, at least now I know what I'm dealing with!!  Just wanted to let you know that this is something that is not rare at all. I was just reading about it this morning at breakfast. I had no idea!

How Far Have You Come?

 Each day I write in my journal about how long I have been working on my anxiety and how I think that I'm doing. The reason is that I can go back and read early posts to get a feeling of how bad I was dealing with my problems. It is amazing to read an post from a few months ago.  Sometimes it doesn't even sound like me. I have now been working on my issues for 176 days and I'm seeing tiny changes taking place. As a matter of fact, the way I'm handling an issue right now is soooo different from how I handled it 3 months ago. I can actually see that I'm improving!!

Make a List of 3 Things

 When I first began my fight against anxiety, I thought that I had nothing to look forward to. It wasn't until I was instructed to find 3 things (doesn't matter how small) that I could look forward to. After doing it for a couple of months, I am amazed at how many things I actually can find to look forward to each day!  As of right now, I have 4 things on my list that I will be able to cross off by dinner!!

Boredom Can Be a Problem

 Yesterday, I got out of bed with a ton of energy and whipped through the house taking care of everything on my To Do List. I was having a great time until around 2 pm when I crashed. I suddenly didn't want to do anything and the feeling lasted right until I went to bed. I wonder what I can do to combat this?

This morning I thought that I would try to slow down my day, but my mind is coming up with a zillion things that I want to tackle!!

Quiet Day and a Nice Long Walk

 Actually, I change my mind. Today I think that I will take the radio out to the garage and set it to play my French learning tape... yes, I still have cassettes and I will start cleaning out the garage. We have hopes of putting the house up for sale and it's been just tooooo cold to do anything out there. I will have to bundle up but all the sweeping that needs to be done should keep me warm!  Actually, I'm looking forward to it!!
